1029a calibration

Postby ambrose on 27 May 2010, 17:26

Folks,

My first post here so go easy.

I need to use a pair of 1029a loudspeakers in a portable mix setup.

In your experience, were the most 'translateable' mixes achieved using the 'flat' setting, or the -2dB setting on the trebble.

Was the 1029a a 'bright' speaker which needs the -2db off the top?

I'm not too worried about the bottom end problems, as i won't be using a sub. If it makes any difference, i'll be in fairly small rooms, un-treated, perhaps with a back wall close by, and a monitor distance of not-very-far (1m max).

Thank you for your advice and any recommendations --

Hi Ambrose,
using -2dB in treble is more or less depending on the taste. According to the measurements, 1029 has a flat frequency response and treble as default is not "boosted". More information of 1029A's you can find here:

Hoping this helps.

Best regards,
