Falling in Love with Genelec

The first time I was introduced to the sonic world of Genelec was during a CD production for an Austrian classical radio station. Tonmeister Klaus Wachschütz swears by Genelecs and encouraged me to get a pair of the new 8000 series. After sleepless nights, and days of hesitations over different professional speakers, I decided to get some beautiful 8040As.
Probably the best decision I’ve ever made!

The world is my studio! My 8040As are always there for me. I use them in many different situations and locations. They are my portable studio. Mostly my Genelecs act as my main monitors at home and when on location. I also like to simply hook them up to my electric piano, only a Steinway sounds better! Now while doing a Masters at the Sonic Arts Research Centre I use the 8040As in many different ways. Once they simulated delay lines to prove the Haas-effect, another time they amplified a newly developed “ROCKquet-musical-instrument” They always sound great!

My Genelecs like it here at the Sonic Arts Research Centre. No wonder, their bigger brothers (1038Bs) are around to play with. Needless to say, my 8040As look fantastic and sound even better. The sound is crisp and clear; they never lie when they sing for you. The look is a truly flawless design. The Iso-Pod is one of the most practical and clever creations ever invented. The only mistake I made was I did not get them in white. I really love my Finnish friends. I can’t wait to get to know the rest of this classy family.
