International Warranty Claim

Hi there,

I travel around the world a lot, living in different places for short periods of time.

I have a faulty Genelec 6010A purchased January 2013.
It appears to have a dead PSU - symptoms are no LED, no audio.

It was purchased from Thomann.de (online reseller).
I am now living in Sydney, Australia.

Where do I make my warranty claim?
The Genelec website says contact local distributor, but the forum indicates in some places that you should contact the people you bought it from.

Obviously for me and the speaker and the environment it is better not to ship the unit halfway across the world and back...

Please can Genelec let me know their policy in this case?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy,

Juridically speaking, warranty is given to the buyer by the seller, so in this case to you by Thomann.de. Unfortunately our distributor in Australia is not responsible of the speakers bought through other distributor and dealer.

Do genelec has any terms about warranty with local dealer when you purchasing the monitors´╝č

I never see this terms when I bought a lots of genelec speakers. However, most of them never broken.
